To be announced  - Spring Leadership Retreat

The Residence Hall Association Spring

Leadership Retreat was held at the Piney

Woods Conservation Center. Persepctive Hall Presidents and other Hall Council members, RHA Executives, and our advisors bonded and learned during a relaxing weekend of ice-breakers, programs, and fun. The theme was "Surfn' in the Residence Halls" and everyone participating had fun competing for the "SFA Swagg Bagg" in different team building exercises.  

11/27/2012 - Holiday Extravaganza

This year Holiday Extravaganza was held outside of the Austin Building on Tuesday, November 27. Hopefully the weather will bec hilly because it will be perfect for the hot cocoa and cookies that will be served. Different campus organizations are invited to participate in the craft project where children from around the Nacogdoches area come out to visit Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The Claus's will take pictures with anyone who wants to. Entertainment will be provided throughtout the night.

11/1 - 11/4  - SWACURH 2012

The Southwest Affiliation of College and University Residence Halls (SWACURH) will be held at Oklahoma State Universtiy (OSU) on November 1-4th. The theme this year is Ignite. We plan on taking a super spirited group of people so that we can win the award for "Best Delegation' or 'Most Spirited Delegation.' We are extremely excited about this year

10/29/2012 - Fall Fest 2011

This year Fall Fest will be on Monday October 29th. All the halls and other organizations are invited to decorate a table and participate.  We are expecting hundreds of students, staff, and members of the community  to come out, eat candy, and have fun. Come with your best costume and compete in the costume contest to win awesome prizes.

10/24 - 10/29/2011  - Homecoming 2011

This year RHA swept in the Homecoming Competition. Candidates were as follows: Freshmen, Hugo Felix and Candace Mackie who beat out the other competitors to win Freshman Duke and Duchess; Sophomores La Shae Jones and James Beeks who won Sophomore Duke and Duchess; Seniors, Stephanie Gilbreath and Marc Jackson who became this year's SFA Homecoming King and Queen! This year's theme was "There's no place like home ". SAA worked with RHA to plan a new Homecoming event, the shopping cart parade. Halls were given a donated shopping cart and were asked to decorate it using the theme. The parade took place before the announcement of the Dukes and Duchesses and the carts were voted on by everybody in the crowd. Winners were given hall of the year points. Congratulations goes to Stephanie Gilbreath and Marc Jackson for being crowned Senior King and Queen.

10/13 - 10/14  - Fall Leadership Retreat 2012

The Fall Leadership Retreat will be on October 13-14th at the Piney Woods Conservation Center. Hall Council members are the only ones eligible to go.

08/25/2012  - Casino Night

RHA's annual Welcome Week program, Casino Night, will be held on August 25th in the Grand Ballroom and Regent Suites A&B. Volunteers will run Blackjack tables, Roulette, Craps, Bingo, and other casino games and tickets will be given for chips. There will be door prizes and multiple chances to win really great prizes. We hope to see you this year!

 - Welcome Jacks 2012

A week before the set move-in date RHA gives students the chance to move-in early, learn what RHA is about, and have fun. These students are called Welcome Jacks. We are currently taking applications to become a Welcome Jack (click here for the application) Applications are due August 6th. Our Welcome Jacks will have a full week to make new friends, learn the campus, and have fun. Hope to see you here

 

5/29 - 6/06/2012  - NACURH 2012

This year the National Association of Colleges and Residence Halls, Inc. (NACURH, Inc.) was held at the Univerisity of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado . SFA graciously sponsered the RHA executives,NRHH president, and Parents Day chair, so everyone could attend. SFA took a charter bus from Fort Worth with UT Austin and TCU and drove all night to Denver, Colordao where we were able to enjoy all the wonderful things that the city had to offer. The next day we drove to Boulder where NACURH was being held. Colorado was a blast and everyone came home with great programming ideas and tons of new friends from all over the world. We are very excited to use the things that we learned and implement them here on the SFA Campus. The theme of NACURH was Passing the Torch of Leadership

04/15/2012 - RHA Awards Banquet

The Annual RHA Awards Banquet was held on Sunday, April 15, 2012, in the BPSC Grand Ballroom.  Annual awards were announced, including Hall of the Year.  Small Hall of the Year went to Todd Hall, Medium Hall of the Year went to Hall 16, Large Hall of the Year went to Kerr Hall, and Overall Hall of the Year went to Kerr Hall.  Also, the 2010-2011 RHA Executive Board was sworn in.  Your 2010-2011 RHA Executives are President Stephanie Gilbreath, Vice President Joseph Houston, Hall Council Coordinator Alonzo Brooks, Marketing Coordinator Maggie Hardie, Secretary Maggie Morgan and National Communications Coordinator Connor Leger.

04/06 - 04/11/2012  - RHA's Best Week Ever

The first Best Week Ever was held during the week of April 6th through 11th and was a huge success. Participants competed in a series of events including Man vs. Food (food contest), Tuesday Night Lights (kickball), World Series of Pop Culture (trivia challenge), Girls Gone Wild (jello wrestling), Silent Library (weird challenges), Real Jack (Lumberjack-themed challenges), Splatterbeat, and an SFA Challenge (cake decorating). T-shirts were given to anyone who competed and hall points were given to winners. The theme was VH1's Best Week Ever.
